Feel Something

Digital Photography & Hair by Kelsy Osterman, 2018 – Ongoing.

This project was the springboard to my artistic awakening. I am a visual processor, and opening the door to photography has given me an invaluable tool that has broadened my gateway of understanding the world. Included here are a selection of my photographs: portraits of dear friends, nature, and solo experiments. I believe that these images capture a bit of the ways in which we intertwine as one and help create a sense of awe.

To feel something is a radical gesture. A gesture of awareness which connects the mind and body with the sensations derived from the present moment. We as people, have been overloaded with all types of sensation, many of which dull our intuition and take us further from our true selves, wants, and needs. This collection of photographs are a part of an on going project that celebrates what is vivid and at our fingertips at all times, beauty in the now. Whether it be on a solo retreat in nature, in the studio, or while cutting someone’s hair, I am looking to capture and share the essence of the sensual world and the people who inhabit these tender moments of being alive.
